Activities in Málaga

As a busy city of half a million inhabitants, there is no shortage of possible activities.

The most popular activities:

• Shopping in Calle Larios
• Tapa'ing in the small streets between Calle Larios and Plaza de la Merced
• Visiting the Alcazar
• Visiting the Museum of Picasso
• A long afternoon at the beach of El Palo with all its fish restaurants
• The long walk from Plaza de la Merced through the park up the hill to the Gibralfaro castle with its views over the bullring and the city.

That is all around you. From Calle Larios, just go criss cross in and out the small streets and alleys.

Originally, tapas were the small portions of food that Spaniards received for free with their drinks. Nowadays however they have sometimes grown into a distinctive craft and you can find them in all sorts, shapes and prices, up to design tapas.

The most famous restaurant is probably El Tintero in the east of Málaga - a fish restaurant on the beach. Often packed, but there is no shortage of smaller fish restaurants all around you.

The most popular tapas are: Jamón serrano, queso viejo and patatas bravas.
